Austenitic stainless steel chrome-nickel non-magnetic, has good weldability, high toughness and excellent corrosion resistance in a wide variety of environments. AISI 316 Austenitic stainless steel Chrome-Nickel, with similar properties to the 304 alloy, benefits in being more resistant to the harshest environments. It has minimum chromium content of 16%, 10% nickel and 2% of molybdenum. The molybdenum provides an additional corrosion resistance making it useful in chemically hostile conditions. It is useful for higher corrosion environments and temperatures below zero.
