Baumit SanovaPre render is:-
a cement based splatter coat designed to ensure good adhesion to new and historic backgrounds.
designed for salt contaminated and damp masonry, natural stone, brick or absorbent concrete.
suitable for equalising the suction of very absorbent surfaces.
Where is it used?
Internally and externally, including splash zones.
Baumit SV61 splatter coat render is applied to the bare surface of masonry walls to provide a key for subsequent plaster coats.
It should always be used on natural stone to provide an appropriate key.
It forms the bonding key for the Baumit Sanova renovation render system.
For salt contaminated masonry, cover an area at least 1m larger in all directions than the contaminated area.
How long does it take to set?
Setting times vary with temperature and humidity but in the summer the product will usually stiffen enough to finish in a few hours and set hard overnight. In winter stiffening may be extended to more than one day with hardening more than two days. Leave the Baumit SV61 for at least 2 days before subsequent coats are applied.
How is it used?
Baumit SV61 can be machine applied. Use an old rotor and stator and lubricate hoses with a lime slurry to prevent blockages.
When hand applying, mix with clean water to a smooth slurry using a plaster whisk.
The slurry should be coarsely applied with a Harling trowel or similar.
Surfaces should be clean, free from dirt and loose material. Surfaces with over-spray can be washed with clean water and left to dry.
Once applied leave to dry for 1-2 days before applying any subsequent renders/plasters.
