Barrisol lamp "Cocoon" designed by Ross Lovegrove, awarded by the REDDOT AWARD 2022 in the category "Design Concept" ! “The cocoon is the result of investigating the full potential of the 3 Dimensionality and elasticity of the Barrisol material. Due to the combination of the skin, the frame and LED clusters the designs benefit from lightness in suspension, wall and portable floor mounted variants. This variant references seeds and pods from the natural world in an informal way which when combined with hi-res surface printing creates a new emotion and aesthetic for interior spaces. I’m thrilled that my relationship with Barrisol continues and that this brings many of my concepts to life . Winning the Red Dot is an important creative recognition that is so encouraging for both emerging and established designers“.
