A patchwork of corrugated iron. An evocative and stimulating cabinet by Doshi Levien. The Shanty Cabinet was created by designers Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien. They were inspired by the corrugated iron and plastic improvised structures found in shanty towns worldwide. It its feet are in matte gold and the ridged façade of the cabinet is asymmetrical, with different colour options ranging between Shanty Summer and multicoloured and Shanty Winter and grey. The Small version comes with folding doors, while the Large version has folding doors and three drawers. Materials and finishes Modules in MDF with lacquered matte finish. Modules fixed together by mechanical system. Doors in MDF with mechanised waveform frontals lacquered in matte finish. Top covered in painted 8mm glass. Octagonal legs in extruded aluminium anodised in gold. Structure in tubular steel painted in black or white satin polyester.
