upholstery fabric / floral pattern / cotton
This delightful print was created to decorate one of the bedrooms of the Petit Trianon at Versailles when it was restored. The Empress Eugénie, who worshipped Marie-Antoinette, particularly liked this place. The curators at Versailles wanted to pay tribute to the Empress who brought the style of Louis XVI back into fashion. This plain weave fabric with a pattern of sinuous flowering branches faithfully reproduces a Second Empire woodblock-printed cloth. Made in France and Traditional screen printing. Fabric from the Petit Trianon, Château de Versailles.
