Here’s the convertible sofa redefined by Paolo Imperatori (2009) in its most abstract form: a simple padded bench, where simplicity is emphasized by the lack of complex mechanisms. The two cylindrical pillows, quoted and re-edited by “traversin” typical of French beds, can be used as a chair back for day sitting and reverts to a cosy bed head and foot board for night use.
