glass railing, cantilevered
The cantilever staircase is adaptable for many environments. The secret to this staircase’s success is in the hidden metalwork in the wall. The first fix involved mechanically fixing a structural steel stringer to the wall with protruding, welded cantilever steel channels.
The stringer was then completely hidden by wall finishes: Beautifully formed timber box treads were then sleeved over the channels.
The finishing touches included stainless steel bosses, connecting the low iron glass balustrade to the treads and first floor landing. Satin polished stainless steel handrail topped the glass balustrade on the floating staircase and continued onto the first floor.
