lateral stringer, glass railing
When the design calls for a seamless helical staircase in a tight radius, the CANAL team rose to the challenge working in collaboration with the architect.
Working in collaboration with the architect, this helical staircase is fabricated from mild steel to create the smooth, joint-less curves, with an added soffit. The staircase features timber treads that match the timber flooring throughout this four storey home. The floating curved glass balustrade is 10mm glass in-fill panels with mild steel balusters connecting each panel at intervals and supporting the grey, hand stitched, leather clad, mild steel handrail.
The mild steel helical staircase has a powder coated finish in two shades of grey and a white soffit, producing a complimentary colour gradient for the leather handrail and surrounding walls in this London property.
