General characteristics
Heos Pro is a refrigeration solution designed for plug-in and semi plug-in showcases. It lowers direct environmental impact by enabling natural refrigerants and reduces indirect emissions through continuous system modulation. The architecture combines a BLDC variable-speed DC compressor with an electronic expansion valve managed by an advanced controller.

Main components of the complete Heos package

• BLDC compressors with DC technology: permanent magnet brushless motors, wide modulation range (25-100%), high efficiency, reduced electrical and mechanical stress, low noise and compact dimensions.
• DC drivers: CAREL drivers for Heos applications offering high electrical efficiency and integrated protections; Class B firmware available.
• Electronic expansion valve: stepper-motor driven valve, operated in synchronization with the variable-speed compressor for precise superheat control.

Compatibility

Advanced Connectivity
HMI connection via Bluetooth or NFC allows parameter setting and commissioning via the CAREL Applica app. Standard RS485 Modbus is supported and controllers can be connected to Ethernet (Modbus TCP/IP) to reduce supervisor polling times and enable faster updates.

A3 ready
All system components are compatible with A3 flammable refrigerants (e.g. propane R290) and with A2L fluids.

Continuous system modulation
Variable-speed BLDC compressors and stepper-driven electronic expansion valves provide continuous modulation to match cabinet demand.

Energy efficiency
The decentralised approach and continuous modulation adapt operation to cabinet load in all conditions; synchronisation of control actions and real-time COP reading optimise energy consumption.

Maximum food preservation quality
Continuous modulation of compressor and EEV ensures excellent temperature and humidity stability in display cabinets, improving product preservation.
