AMMIRATO is the velvet suited more than any other to public spaces. Polyester is used as a flame-retardant pile thread, and has a shimmer very similar to silk. A specific treatment during the finishing process stabilises the fibres and makes the surface of the cloth appear uniform. The result is a durable flame-retardant washable velvet. Christian Fischbacher’s AMMIRATO demonstrates how velvet can be successfully woven to be strong without losing its glossy beauty.
