Emergency lighting provides a minimum level of illumination to enable the safe exit of buildings in the event that normal lighting supplies fail. Following a mains failure or circuit fault, luminaires provide an instant light source for the escape routes and open areas to achieve minimum level of illumination for a defined minimum period.
