This project was in the venerable Kips Bay Showhouse NYC. Each year celebrated interior designers transform a luxury Manhattan home into an elegant exhibition of Art and Style. To be chosen to participate is an incredible honour and in collaboration with US designer Wesley Moon, Clive Christian Furniture truly transformed this once tired space.
The rooms were in a 19th Century Brownhouse, so the approach was to contemporise and design a gilded age butler's pantry. Taking inspiration from historic homes across the US & Europe, the main objective was to make the rooms relevant for today.
Our job was to create custom curved cabinetry that allowed for ample storage without losing any elegance. Adding backlit, glass-fronted cabinetry to the room created a stunning showpiece within a modest area. The luxurious pop of yellow leather immersed the pantry with light and perfectly fit with the bold design scheme.
