Overview
Komorebi is the result of a collaboration with Domus Academy Milano. The name refers to sunlight filtering through leaves. The product is an open, lightweight structure that frames an intimate sheltered space while keeping a dialogue with the surrounding environment.

Design concept
Komorebi (木漏れ日) interprets the interplay of light and shadow produced by sunlight passing through foliage. It takes the form of a protective yet permeable shelter that creates a shifting spatial experience. The composition and volumes reference aspects of the modern movement while proposing a contemporary reading of private, small-scale architecture.

Collaboration and authorship
Project developed in collaboration with Domus Academy Milano. The research and production team included Course Leaders Elisa Chiodo and Alessandro Squatrito, Project Leaders Setsu & Shinobu Ito, and Project Expert Federica Ricci. An international group of students contributed to the concept and development.

Usage and environment
Designed as an adaptable element, Komorebi is suitable for indoor and outdoor installations. The materials and construction aim to create a light, almost immaterial shelter appropriate for convivial areas or solitary use, encouraging a play of light and shadow across the surfaces.
