Description

With our Douglas planks, you get a distinct and unique look of the highest quality. A Douglas plank floor creates a highly elegant and harmonious expression due to the extraordinary dimensions. An extravagant solution with clear references to the majestic Douglas tree. Classic Subtle structure with a classic expression. Harmonious and calm. Fewer knots. Natural Dynamic structure with a natural expression. Authentic and warm. More knots. Towering up to 60 metres tall, Douglas is a tree that stands out. The grand expression is preserved in the planks, where the unique grain bears testimony to nature’s power and beauty. Dinesen Douglas is produced in dimensions up to 15 metres long, 45 centimetres wide and 35 millimetres thick. The Douglas trees are between 80 and 120 years old. They come from forests that through generations have been treated with the highest respect for nature. The quality control begins in the forest where each tree is carefully selected, and continues throughout the process. In the production facilities in Denmark, we combine the latest technology with traditional virtues of craftsmanship in order to make planks of uncompromising quality. It is this careful selection and the extraordinary craftsmanship that place Dinesen Douglas in a class of its own. As an old family business, we appreciate the importance of planning for the future. Therefore, we only use raw wood from sustainable forestry where the stands are tended with the greatest care and respect for nature. We source most of our wood from Germany, but we also work with other European countries where forestry has been based on sustainable principles for centuries.
