In time this will settle down automatically. Variations in colour and texture of jute in different parts of the rug are normal. They add to the beauty and authenticity of the carpet. The odour of jute can be present which is natural and not hazardous. Cleaning & Maintenance Please do not pull the jute strips. Do not pull out any loose ends, trim with scissors. Use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture. Keep away from sharp objects, hot surfaces, and open fire places. Avoid pet stains as these are hard to remove from carpets. Vacuum your jute carpet twice a week to prevent dirt accumulating in the fibers. Vacuum both sides of the carpet including the floor underneath. Rotate or reposition your carpet every two months to keep the surface even and to extend the life of the rug. Treat a spot created by spilled drinks or dropped food, by first scraping up as much of the substance as possible with a plastic spoon: scrape towards the center of the spill to keep the spot as small as possible. Dab the area with a dye-free cloth dipped into a bit of water with a mild dish soap. Continue dabbing until the stain is gone, then wipe again with a damp cloth. Blot dry with paper towels or a dry cloth.
