ORGANIC, BEAUTIFUL AND AESTHETIC
DESIGN WITH FOCUS ON THE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Arne Vodder was one of the most influential Danish architects and furniture designers of the 20th century. His trademark when designing was his keen eye for details, his design’s modest expression and his preference for the natural look. The AV72 was introduced in 1972 and was produced for a couple of years before it was taken out of production. In 2016, the chair was relaunched in close collaboration with Arne Vodder’s son.
WITH LOVE FOR NATURAL MATERIALS AND FUNCTIONAL DESIGN
For the Danish designer Arne Vodder, great design had to be equally functional and aesthetically beautiful – few pieces of furniture live up to these criteria like the AV72 does.
ARNE VODDER EXCELLED THE SIMPLE AND BEAUTIFUL DESIGN
The chaise longue testifies to his sense of detail, love of natural materials and magnificent ability to create simple and functional design.
ORGANIC SHAPES
The AV72 is upholstered with soft luxurious leather and is carried by a matte-chromed steel set, which emphases the chair’s organic shape and the way it supports the body.
A DESIGN DREAM COME TRUE
“My father was very proud of the chair and, for many years, he had it in his living room” says Michael Vodder, the son of Arne Vodder. “When I was a child, I dreamt of having this very chair in my own home, and, now, this dream will be a reality’.
