Product overview
The FANCY FENCE retractable fence and gate system is a customizable entrance/fence solution where gate elements can be fully retracted into the ground. Individual elements (pickets, panels, glass, frames) can be freely combined to achieve any desired length, height, shape and aesthetic, delivering a tailored fence system for residential and public applications.

How it works
All movable elements and the operator are housed in a narrow reinforced concrete shaft in the ground. An internal system of cables, pulleys and counterweights balances the retractable door so that a conventional, low-maintenance sliding door operator is sufficient to raise and lower the gate. The mechanism is concealed: the gate slides elegantly into the ground and reappears as needed.

Design & configurations
Extensive design freedom: choose between steel pickets, steel or Corten panel sheets, tempered glass elements, or a frame that can be filled with customer-chosen materials (e.g., HPL). Fences can be semi-clad or fully-clad depending on desired privacy. The system supports straight and curved sections, arcs, angled joints and custom heights for individual pickets.

Shape & height flexibility
Retractable posts allow bends and curves; individual gate and fence heights are configurable to fit unusual entrances. Pickets can be finished with different top profiles and heights to secure access as required.

Safety & weatherproofing
The system includes light barriers and overload sensors that stop the mechanism immediately if movement is detected. The reinforced concrete shaft is watertight; where water can enter, an automatic drainage pump activates. Gates are designed to operate reliably in snow and rain and have been tested in temperature chambers from -30 °C to +50 °C.

Operation & maintenance
An ingenious counterweight system keeps the effort required very low. Gates can be operated by a conventional sliding door operator and—if needed—manually via a hand crank through a control opening in the centre cover (suitable even for operation during power failure). There is also the possibility to equip the gate with a battery for roughly five to ten cycles. Maintenance is comparable to conventional entrance gates: centre and other covers are removable for easy access to the operator and internal components.

Additional notes
The offer normally includes supply and installation; the waterproof reinforced concrete shaft can be manufactured on site to specification or supplied prefabricated. Pricing is calculated per project based on specific customer requirements.
