The world's first intelligent bollard The SMART model bollard is the fruit of years of studies and tests by FCI Urban's R&D department. It is the first security bollard equipped with an autonomous signaling system. It detects and warns of the passage of a vehicle, pedestrian or bicycle in areas with low visibility. Its operation and characteristics are the same as those of a conventional polyurethane bollard, being a totally flexible element that is highly resistant to adverse conditions. In addition, it is prepared to incorporate Big Data technology, with traffic volume or weather sensors, among others. This SMART bollard is our first contribution to smart cities! A product that combines passive safety (signaling the danger detected by emergency LEDs) with active safety (flexible bollards that do not cause damage in case of accidental fall of pedestrians or cyclists). The communication between the bollards is via Bluetooth, and the power supply can be by solar panel or hybrid (also available for connection to the mains). SMART BOLLARD by FCI Urban is not a standardized product, each project is tailored to the customer's requirements and requires a previous study of the area where it will be used.
