Standard Tessera carpet tiles already contain over 60% recycled content and are produced using 100% renewable energy, resulting in lower embodied carbon levels. By evolving this standard carpet tile construction, Forbo Flooring Systems has further improved the sustainability of selected carpet tile ranges, increasing the recycled content and substantially lowering the embodied carbon (A1-A3). All without offsetting and verified by range specific Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). The most sustainable ranges can be easily identified as being part of the evolve+ series. The current Tessera Topology and Create Space 1 collections achieve these enhanced sustainability criteria. Further ranges with enhanced sustainability criteria are currently under development and will be introduced as part of the evolve+ series in 2025.
