Description

Utilising large diameter piles, and a plunge column positioning frame, high capacity universal column sections can be installed into fluid concrete, and accurately positioned in terms of plan position, level, orientation and verticality, enabling basement foundation piles to be installed in advance of the basement excavation. Construction Sequence 1. Install casing and bore pile to depth, and place reinforcing cage. 2. Position and fix location pins onto casing in line with plunge column axis. 3. Use location pins to centralise the positioning frame coaxial with the centre of the plunge column. 4. Place the positioning frame over the location pins to accurately locate and orientate the frame coaxial with the plunge column. 5. Use the hydraulic "jack out" legs at the base of the frame combined with verticality lasers to align the frame vertical. 6. Fill the pile with concrete to the concrete cut off level 7. Place the plunge column within the frame and use the frame hydraulics to centralise the column within the frame. Lower the column into the concrete and support at the correct level. Leave concrete to set. 8. Partially backfill above the concrete with pea gravel, remove the frame, backfill, and remove casing.
