EVOKERAM R is glass upon which ceramic enamel is applied by roller. The ceramic enamel being a functional or decorative coating applied to the glass surface for aesthetic purposes, to increase mechanical and chemical resistance, or the control of incoming or outgoing light. Once the ceramic enamel is applied uniformly, the glass is heated to a temperature of about 650 degrees Celsius, at which point it begins to soften. This process allows the ceramic enamel to fuse with the glass, resulting in a final product that incorporates highly resilient ‘UV resistant, and abrasion / chemical-resistant colour. Its mechanical warping strength is that of tempered glass, which is usually four or five times higher than that of regular glass. EVOKERAM R fractures into very small, harmless shards, ensuring the safety and security of those who may come into contact with the broken glass. EVOKERAM R uses RAL codes and can produce various types of glass with thicknesses from 4 mm to 19 mm
EVOKERAM R shares the same qualities as EVODUR ESG but also has colour applied via ceramic enamel. EVOKERAM R’s exceptional shock resistance enables an 8mm glass panel to withstand the impact of a 500g steel ball falling from a height of 2m. By comparison, the same ball falling from a height of 0.3 m, breaks regular glass of the same thickness. In addition, its characteristic ‘flexural breaking strength’ of at least 129 MPa is far superior to that of ordinary glass. These remarkable ‘Safety and Security’ related mechanical qualities make EVOKERAM R safety glass the recommended first choice for doors, partitions, railings, shower cabins, elevator doors and glass stairs.
