The Source dining chair, with its shapely, buttoned upholstered seat and concave form, is the most comfortable chair in the Source family.
The concept evolved from Haldane Martin’s Source Wire Chair, both chairs being womb-like in nature. Beyond its enveloping shape, the Source Upholstered Chair departs from its wire cousin, introducing a fusion of design languages. Its form marries modern Scandinavian and organic aesthetics; its solid wooden legs speak to the warm tactility of craft; while its deep buttoning references a historical technique used to attach fabric to foam to prevent the fabric from pulling loose.
The Source Upholstered Chair has a fibreglass shell with buttoned upholstery available in a range of commercial felt. Clients can also supply their own fabric. Its laser-cut and welded metal frame holds together machined timber legs, which are made from high quality wood in solid ash or walnut.
