Overview
The 4-1/2” Solid Walls Platform 4SPACE® is a site-built, progressive system composed of prefabricated framing components and modular tiles. It is engineered to reproduce the appearance of built-in interior walls while enabling acoustic control, installation sequencing flexibility, and long-term reconfiguration.

System Fundamentals
The system pairs fast-connect framing with interchangeable tiles to enable design adaptability, service integration, and efficient on-site assembly. Typical installation sequence: framing, utility coordination, inspection, then tile installation and finishing.

Frame & Tile

• Horizontal and vertical framing members snap together for repeatable alignment and fast erection.
• Finished tiles can be shipped separately to support trade sequencing and a clean work environment.
• Tiles provide acoustic properties and are designed for fast locating and snap-in installation.

Trade Alignment

• Floor track can be installed over carpet or directly to concrete, allowing alignment with conventional trade sequencing.

Base Building Interface

• Trim and additive components improve acoustic sealing at ceiling and floor connections.
• System provides seamless transitions to adjacent base building conditions.
• Trim available in Haworth painted and powder-coated colors.

Acoustic Performance

• Supports horizontal and vertical installations.
• Tile segmentation permits panels to be divided and configured for specific design intent.

Electrical Integration & Technology

• Conventional electrical devices install into Haworth‑supplied boxes and mudrings.
• Coordinated positions between framing, electrical boxes, and tile cutouts ensure accurate field execution.
• Large knockouts for routing; keyhole openings every 8" (203 mm); mounting holes every 1/2" (13 mm).
• Factory‑machined tiles accept cutouts (up to 9 cutouts per tile depending on material).
• Mounting details support Haworth or third‑party monitor mounts and AV attachments; factory brackets support plywood backing for surface‑mounted AV, artwork, and casegoods.

Doors
Swing and sliding door options are part of the 4SPACE® family. Swing doors may be installed in solid wall applications; sliding doors require attachment to the 4SPACE 1-1/8" Glass Wall Platform. Door types include glass slab, framed single glazed, wood, and wood glazed. Typical data:

• Door height: 10' (3048 mm) typical.
• Common leaf widths: 36" (914 mm), 40" (1016 mm), 42" (1067 mm), 45" (1143 mm), 48" (1219 mm).
• Example door thickness: 1-3/4" (45 mm) for some framed/wood options.
• Glass thickness examples: 3/8" (10 mm) standard; some options accept 1/2" (12 mm).
• Optional concealed closers, drop seals, interlocking side seals and close‑assist features available by door type.

Transition Details
A complete set of transition options supports connections between glazing, drywall and solid wall systems, including inline, 2‑way, 3‑way and 4‑way conditions. Options include concealed transition posts with tile overlays or expressed painted posts for different visual outcomes.
