Description

Designed by Ray Wilkes and first introduced in 1976, this playful, eye-catching lounge seating has made a lasting impression. The essential post-modern design has been updated with power and material options, while maintaining its original injection-moulded foam cushion construction and integrated table option. - Reintroducing a classic that’s versatile, inviting and wickedly self-assured: The Wilkes Modular Sofa Group is a playful, post-modern design with Chiclet-shaped cushions. Available as a chair or up to a six-seat sofa, with an optional table unit. - Structured for Comfort: Comfort starts with geometry – specifically the 105-degree angle of the seat and back. Steel brackets join the seat and back, allowing each back section to flex independently for individual comfort. The rounded-edge cushions, likened to Chiclet gum, never “puddle” or lose their shape. - Scalable and Suitable: Ideal for collaboration in casual office settings, making a statement in living rooms, or invigorating student unions. Available in a range of configurations, from a single chair to a six-seat sofa. Modularity allows specification of a table instead of a seat unit anywhere along the run. Power option available for additional functionality. - Mod Versatility: Upholstery options include bright solids for a full PoMo look or textiles from Maharam for a different twist. Distinctive silhouette and versatile upholstery options make it adaptable to a wide variety of architectural styles. - Design Story: Ray Wilkes designed the modular seating to be minimalist in spirit, with its iconic form made possible by advanced technology. - Integrated table option - Injection-moulded foam cushion construction - Power and material options available - Designer: Ray Wilkes - First introduced: 1976 - Post-modern design with Chiclet-shaped cushions - Available as chair, up to six-seat sofa, or with table unit - 105-degree seat and back angle for comfort - Steel brackets for flexible back support - Rounded-edge cushions maintain shape - Multiple upholstery options, including Maharam textiles - Optional integrated power - Suitable for office, home, or public spaces
