Reducers are typically used around Fireplaces, doorways, room dividers etc., the reducer moulding shape is typically utilized for a transition area between two different heights of the flooring surfaces. A flooring reducer is often used when the hardwood flooring height drops down to surface that is even with the bottom of hardwood flooring.
