Dimonah Iksel imagined this decor, entirely from Safavid miniatures, mostly of the 17th Century. There are many styles in Persian miniatures but this one shines due to the elegant gaits and costumes of its characters. Here are many recognisable folk tales for the knowing but just Oriental colour and whimsy for the decorator. The painting is very true to the originals and the Asian features are due to the Turkic origin of the dynasty and nobles at the time. The composition, however, is entirely the work of Dimonah, setting the characters in backgrounds of her choice, so as to give us a Persian fresco.
