Every Jan Kath carpet can be individually designed in terms of size, format, and materials. Even the collections can be combined with each other using a kind of modular system.
Luck has a face in China: The dragon, revered for millennia in the Middle Kingdom. It is considered the ancestor of humanity and the ruler of the water; it determines the seasons,
the weather, and therefore the harvest.
Still today, children born in the year of the dragon are considered to be especially lucky. So it's little wonder that this legendary creature is a regular component in art and a traditional image on distinguished carpets.
Inspired by his travels to Beijing, Shanghai, and imperial cities such as Xi'an, Jan Kath discovered ancient dragon depictions for his work and interpreted them in the East collection
in a modern way.
