The NACELLE (french word for "ballon basket") lamp has been designed by Jean Michel POLICAR for Orchid Edition.
"The small « Nacelle » lamp is light and very portable, and can be put directly on the floor or higher up, on a piece of furniture. Its construction implements many aspects of traditionnal rattan craftmanship : steamed and bent poles of rattan for the structure, rattan core for traytops and lampshades, rattan skin for the bindings. Beyond its lighting function, the lamp is also proposing a lower storage tray for all kinds of things: connected objects , books, etc... If it is slightly reminding us of former oïl lamps. we can also imagine the shape of a balloon that wants to rise up when switched on." Jean-Michel Policar
"The big Nacelle is a pretty tall standing lamp.
"The NACELLE lamp looks like a crayfish basket that lets in a soft light. A whole poetic world in which rattan is the main actor. A beautiful tribute to this noble material used all over the world." Tina Ledi
