Düsseldorf, Cairo, Lyon or Moscow – 7100 Terminal can be found in numerous airports all over the world. For many good reasons, this classic bench from 1991 has been a staple in many waiting areas. On the one hand, this series by the Danish architect and designer Prof. Jørgen Kastholm (†) is characterized by a timeless design language, on the other hand, these modular benches are virtually maintenance-free. The construction is based on an ingenious modular system, making it possible to create a wide variety of bench configurations. This series is also available with different seat heights, so that senior citizens or persons with reduced mobility can have a comfortable seat. The supporting backbone is an extremely sturdy stretcher bar – the seat units consist of one-piece, ergonomically curved seat shell made of perforated sheet steel. Other finishing options include upholstered seat and back pads covered in fabric or leather. On top of this, all benches that have been in use for 15, 20 years or even longer, can be upgraded thanks to the Retro-Fit set. The former seat shells are exchanged for new polyurethane foamed seat shells. Armrests can also be retrofitted upon request.
