Product description
Waves, developed by Kvadrat Acoustics in collaboration with Foster + Partners Industrial Design, is an acoustic curtain system designed to create adaptable acoustic soft rooms within open-plan interiors. The system reconceives the curtain as a flexible architectural element that shapes interiors, improves acoustic comfort and adapts to changing user needs.

Key functionality
Highly adaptable for workplaces, hospitality and commercial settings. Waves can be mounted to ceilings, soffits and beams and is available in manual and motorised configurations, including app-based control. The system defines pockets of space within larger environments to support activities from focused work to informal gatherings.

Construction
The curtain is built from three or four layers depending on acoustic requirements: a Kvadrat textile on the front and back with one or two sound‑reducing inner core layers. Patented tapes and hooks are rhythmically arranged to reduce friction between layers and to create a regular wave drape.

Acoustic performance
Waves provides a sound transmission loss of approximately 12–15 dB and can achieve up to 70% noise reduction in suitable configurations, improving speech privacy and overall acoustic comfort in open environments.

Installation
A tailored gasket limits sound spill for clean installation. A patented tape‑hook alignment system controls fabric rhythm and a specially developed rail enables smooth operation in straight and curved layouts. Discreet track and carrier systems are integrated for durable, reliable performance.

Configurations and control
Available in manual and motorised versions; the motorised option supports app-based control. Rail and track systems support straight and curved layouts and can be custom-made to project requirements.
