BEND by Cini Boeri Architetti
wood, galvanized steel
for public spaces
The structure of the chair of the Bend Collection is made of 2 profiles, resulting from a laser-cut steel sheet 80/10 thickness, on which plates of support, 50/10 thick, are welded. On these plates are placed the exotic wood slats. The slats have a section 50x30mm. On the legs of the chair profiles of support, resulting from a steel sheet 50/10 thickness, bent on the lower part shaping the feet of the bench, are welded. The feet are provided with holes (10 mm diam.) for the fixing to the ground through specific bolts (not provided). As a further support of the structure, there are elements in steel sheet, 40/10 thickness, laser -cut and bent. These elements are placed behind and under the slats and connect the two profiles on the side.
Steel EN10111DD11 is used for the realization of this product and all the elements in this material, after all the different stages (cutting, bending, welding), are treated with electrogalvanizing according to the UNI regulations and are later polyester powder-coated with RAL colours at choice.
The wood used is either Iroko or Okume, treated with natural, water-repellent, UV ray resistant oils.
