The Samourai vase evokes the various superposed elements which combine to make the armour of a Samurai warrior. The coloured design cut into the glass evokes the ornamental motifs (often in lacquered steel) which are the most common decoration for the protective arm and thigh pieces. Mouth-blown glass, moulded and cut to obtain the motif at the top of the neck.
