Magic Circus Éditions uses light as a medium to tell extraordinary stories. In just a few collections, the brand established in 2015 by Marie-Lise Féry has become widely recognized for its unique designs with a light, airy look and exuberant proportions. Products are handmade by the very best artisans in Europe, carefully chosen for their mastery of ancient crafts. Artisanal manufacturing process, bespoke fi nishes and extravagant dimensions: each collection gives shape to a brand new perspective on our urban heritage.
“I like to turn forgotten objects from the 20th century into something new, take them from a public context into a residential setting and link the past with the present. I like to play with balance and a sort of weightless quality when designing pieces which can sometimes be absolutely enormous, in order to give them a more dramatic look, make them more fun or magical, most of all to create something unexpected,” Marie-Lie Féry explained.
Collection 01 explores the spirit behind the fi rst streetlamps, Collection 02 revels in a whimsical vision of the Far East, Pop-Up reengages with the carefree glossiness of the 1970s, and Balloon has a contemporary and enchanting take on childhood funfair memories. For her latest ceiling light, Upside Down, Marie-Lise Féry juggles with simple geometric shapes in space. Its balanced proportions paired with an outsized format refl ect the brand’s spectacular aesthetic. The Venice wall lights recall her impressions on discovering the Grand Canal, transposing with a modern eye the rhythm of its Renaissance architecture.
