Kebony is the only sustainable alternative to tropical wood when it comes to beauty and performance. Kebony technology is a patented method that upgrades the properties of non-permanent softwoods through the application of a bio-based liquid. The wood is soaked through completely and then heat-treated; furfurylation (alcohol). As a result of the treatment the cellular structure of the wood is permanently changed and has premium qualities. Kebony is a very hard and durable wood in the same way as tropical woods are. After a while it develops a beautiful silver-grey patina. However, you can also oil the terrace if you want it to keep its chocolate brown colour. Just be aware that if you oil it once you must oil it every year. When properly installed and maintained, Kebony terrace is ideal for pool surrounds, landing stages and quays.
