DescriptionThe Corteccia rug by Marta Ferri balances surface depth and material variation in a tactile interpretation of natural bark textures. A veining pattern runs across the weave, evoking splits and stratifications of wood; irregular reliefs and varied yarn heights create a carved, three-dimensional surface that changes with light and movement.
Materials & ConstructionCorteccia is knotted from a blend of bamboo silk, wool and cotton. The fibre mix produces contrasts between matte and luminous areas: bamboo silk gives a soft sheen while wool and cotton provide body, resilience and underfoot comfort.
Design Intent & UseDesigned to define space through texture rather than colour, Corteccia integrates into contemporary interiors. It brings visual weight, warmth and a grounded tactile presence suitable for refined residential and contract settings.
Designer- Marta Ferri — born in Milan (1984); influenced by photography and interior set design, her work for Corteccia focuses on material depth and tactile expression.
