The linkage is contained entirely outside of the airstream to ensure long life and minimal maintenance. Normally intended for balancing purposes, Monodraught VCDs can also be equipped with additional seals to create a low leakage variant and high temperature parts can also be specified enabling use in environments where temperatures reach up to 300 o C.
