Overview
With Diorama, the Swedish design collective Front transforms the armchair into a perceptual device. The unusually high backrest redefines the scale of the object, creating an almost architectural presence: a soft wall that shapes space and establishes a threshold between intimacy and openness. Inspired by the diorama concept—three-dimensional representation that evokes landscape and depth—the armchair encourages the gaze to extend beyond its limits and integrates the sitter into a composed scene.

Usage and experience
Sitting in Diorama involves crossing a threshold: the observer becomes part of the scene. Surrounding space is perceived as landscape while people and light act as changing elements of the composition, providing an intimate, immersive experience of contemporary living and spatial design.
