Description

For the fourth volume of the outstandingly successful Archive series, the Morris & Co. studio have explored Morris’ role as a collector of Persian carpets and global textiles and the influence it had on his work. Purleigh Weaves is a rich compendium of upholstery weight fabrics inspired by Morris’ passion for understanding the craftsmanship of the past and the East, this collection of fabrics includes adaptations of his stunning hand knotted carpets, as well as the Eastern textiles, found complementing Morris fabrics and wallpapers in the interiors of Standen and Wightwick Manor. All of these versatile fabrics are suitable for general domestic upholstery and are perfectly complemented by the Archive IV wallpaper and Archive IV fabric collections. Originally a best-selling carpet design, this mixed-chenille jacquard fabric features a small-scale interlocking floral motif which makes it an extremely versatile pattern, ideal for upholstery and curtains. A wallpaper of the same name is also available.
