For a renovated old apartment in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, there was a desire for a modern and timeless kitchen design that can compete with the space and the imposing architecture. An impressive, centrally positioned kitchen island forms the heart of our design and at the same time refers to the rich stucco decorations on the ceiling. The polished worktop from Compac in gray marble adds an extra touch of extravagance to match the dark fronts. The high-quality selection of appliances, from the oven with a warming drawer to the wine cooler from the Swiss manufacturer V-Zug, ensures that cooking is a pleasure.
For additional storage space and work space, we have also planned a kitchenette with an adjacent tall cabinet and wall cabinets. Another special feature is the tile mirror from the 3D tiles SOAP from Kaufmann Keramik in bamboo brown. A LED strip built into the wall unit provides extra lighting for the work surface, at the same time the light plays with the high-gloss finish of the glaze and brings out the unusual shape of the tile.
Both the kitchen island and the wall units are made of Valchromat, which we have oiled as a finish to achieve a warmer and livelier note.
