A hand-moulded brick for lovers of red
The Anglian is a hand-moulded brick from the Nuance range of Nelissen Brickworks. The surface of the brick is red. The colour shades vary from orange-red with white-beige nuances, to bright red with black reduced spots in a certain proportion.
The brick is made from Löss from Limburg, extracted from the plateau of Kesselt in the Meuse valley and revalued with raw materials from the Volcanic Eiffel. The baking process is done in a gas-fired tunnel kiln under a slightly reducing atmosphere. The facing brick (non-perforated) is sanded on five sides, and provided with an oblong sloping groove on one flat side. The structure is formed by a rough appearance with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface.
