The hand-moulded brick with a dark edge Veneto is a hand-moulded brick from the Passion range of Nelissen Brickworks. The facing brick is non-perforated and sanded on five sides. The Veneto is provided with an oblong sloping groove at one flat side (frog, group 1). The structure is formed by a rough appearance with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The baking process is done in a gas-fired tunnel kiln under a slightly reducing atmosphere. The Veneto has a red surface. The colour shades show a pastel-coloured nuance going from orange-red to purple-red, interspersed with grey-blue nuances. All this in a certain proportion. These hand-moulded bricks for the façade are made from Löss from Limburg, extracted from the plateau of Kesselt in the Meuse valley and revalued with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.
