The hand-moulded facing brick with 3 shades of grey Cap Gris Nez is a hand-moulded facing brick from the Grigio range of Nelissen Brickworks. The colour shades vary from silver-grey, beige-grey to mouse grey. Nelissen Brickworks obtains this nuance by mixing sawdust with white, fine-grained sand. This Cap Gris Nez is made from Löss from Limburg, extracted from the plateau of Kesselt in the Meuse valley and revalued with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel. The facing brick (non-perforated) is sanded on five sides, and provided with an oblong sloping groove on one flat side. The structure is formed by a rough appearance with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The baking process is done in a gas-fired tunnel kiln under a slightly reducing atmosphere.
