Conserve natural resources with Mikado, a line of matte-finished rectified porcelain comprising 100-percent recycled content that offers a woodlike look-without felling any trees. Distinguished with a subtle grain pattern, the collection of floor and wall tiles was inspired by the poetic use of plywood by modernist architects Alvar Aalto and Adolf Loos. In Bambu, Ebano, and Mogano colorways, tiles come in sizes ranging from 6-by-224-inch "planks" to an oversized 24-by-36-inch format, as well as wall decors that layer wood grain textures with the subtle impressions of flowers and leaves. The maker embraces eco-friendly manufacturing practices, from conscientious sourcing and recycling of raw material to the use of reduced-emission, low-energy-consumption machinery.
