Overview Green Galaxy is an extraordinary quartzite formed approximately 590 million years ago along the Agua Branca fault zone in Brazil. Tectonic deformation transformed a magmatic quartz-syenite into a fine-grained, compact mylonite. Its deep green colour and marble-like texture suit applications that require both aesthetic appearance and high technical performance. Key technical properties include low water absorption, high mechanical strength, low abrasion and resistance to acids and frost.
Origin and formation Formed along the Agua Branca fault zone (Brazil) when tectonic movements reshaped the original quartz-syenite protolith into metamorphic mylonite, producing a dense, fine-grained quartzite with notable resistance to mechanical and climatic stress.
Applications Suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor applications such as cladding, flooring, countertops, façades and landscape elements where weather resistance and long-term durability are required.
