Systematic storage and pellet transport The size of the storage room The building heat load determines the size of the required storage room. As a rule of thumb: each 1 kW heat load = 0.9 m³ storage space (including voids). A rectangular room with a width of no more than two metres is recommended. In storage quantities up to 6.5 tonnes, pellets can be stored without any special fire protection provisions. Emptying by means of a sloping floor A sloping floor is installed to allow the pellet store to be emptied optimally. The pellets slide to the delivery auger in the centre. This empties the contents of the store reliably. ÖkoFEN supplies suitable angle brackets for constructing the optimum sloping floor substructure, which makes the contractor’s work much easier.
