Overview
Pilkington Optitherm™ is a range of off-line coated low-emissivity glass designed for use in Insulating Glass Units (IGUs). The products are optimised for thermal insulation with ultra-low U_g-values and a highly neutral visual appearance. They can be combined with other Pilkington solutions for safety, security, acoustic control and solar management.

Products in the Pilkington Optitherm™ range

• Pilkington Optitherm™ S1A — an off-line coated low-emissivity glass delivering a U_g-value of 1.0 W/m²K in a standard IGU. Characterised by improved light transmission and reduced total solar heat transmittance (g-value).
• Pilkington Optitherm™ S3 — a neutral off-line coated low-emissivity glass providing a U_g-value of 1.1 W/m²K in a standard IGU. Offers very high light transmittance, low reflectance and excellent colour neutrality, suitable for large glazing areas.

Pilkington Spectrum is available as a glass performance model to calculate key properties such as transmittance, reflectance, absorptance, g-value, centre-pane U_g-value, sound insulation, UV transmittance and colour rendering index.

Technical specifications

• U_g-value (double glazed IGU): S1A = 1.0 W/m²K; S3 = 1.1 W/m²K (in accordance with EN 673).
• U_g-value (triple glazed IGU): values as low as 0.5 W/m²K.
• Improved light transmission and reduced g-value for S1A.
• Very high light transmittance, low reflectance and high colour neutrality for S3.
• Super neutral in colour (transmission and reflection).
• Suitable for windows, façades, conservatories, roof glazing, refurbishment and new build.
