Product overviewPilkington Optiwhite™ is an extra clear, low-iron float glass with very high light transmission. It is practically colourless and lacks the green tint found in conventional clear glass, making it suitable when visible edges or neutral colour rendering are required. Compared with standard clear float glass, its higher light transmission improves colour fidelity and perceived transparency. Low-iron glass is manufactured from selected raw materials with reduced iron content and a controlled melting process to maintain consistent optical properties.
Features & Benefits- Very high light transmission for outstanding visual clarity where an unobstructed view is required.
- Neutral colour rendering with minimal green cast for truer representation of materials and finishes.
- Increased solar heat transmittance enabling passive solar gain in glazing applications.
- Suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
- Can be toughened or laminated to meet safety and security requirements.
- Compatible with other Pilkington products (thermal insulation, self-cleaning, anti-reflective or conductive coatings).
- Available in thicknesses from 2 mm to 19 mm.
ApplicationsPilkington Optiwhite™ is specified for a wide range of architectural, interior and specialist uses where extra clarity and neutral colour are required, including façades, balustrades, canopies, doors, internal partitions, glass floors, picture frames, shopfronts, stairs, glass furniture and horticultural structures. It is used in commercial and residential projects as well as museum and display cases.
