Product overviewPilkington Insulight™ with ScreenLine® is a system where the blind (venetian, pleated or roller) is encapsulated within two glass panes in an insulating glass unit. The internal encapsulation protects the blind from dirt, dust and weather, ensuring maintenance-free operation and hygienic conditions.
Performance and operationPilkington Insulight™ with ScreenLine® combines the thermal insulation of a sealed glazing unit with adjustable solar shading. Slat tilt or raising provides seasonal control of solar gain: tilt to reduce overheating in summer, open to maximise passive solar gain in winter. Manual and motorised operating options allow precise control without compromising the hermetic seal. Integration with Pilkington K Glass™ or Pilkington Optitherm™ and a range of solar-control coatings enhances thermal and solar performance.
Features & Benefits- Precise light and solar control.
- Space-saving integration compared with external or cased blinds.
- Adjustable operation: tilt or raise on applicable models for variable privacy and light control.
- Effective glare and heat reduction.
- No maintenance required: units are sealed against dirt, dust and weather.
- Hygienic design—prevents accumulation of dust and bacteria.
- Blinds are enclosed within the insulating glass unit without compromising the hermetic seal.
- Sealed units retain appearance and reduce lifecycle maintenance costs.
- Durability verified by long-term use testing.
- Rotational frontal magnet control preserves unit seal and integrity.
- Multiple operating methods: manual (wand, cord, rotational knob) or motorised (programmable infrared or radio-frequency remote).
- Compatible with full glazing range including solar control, enhanced thermal insulation (including triple glazing), acoustic reduction and fire-resistant options.
- Available in a wide range of colours.
- 5-year guarantee on all models.
ApplicationsPilkington Insulight™ with ScreenLine® is suitable for external façades, windows and internal glazing such as slim partitions. Typical uses include offices, hospitals and care homes, schools, banks, police stations, laboratories, high-traffic public areas and residential buildings. The sealed, clean slats make it suitable for environments with strict hygiene requirements.
