1 South Road, National Stadium - Chao Yang District, Beijing City
This is the Beijing National Stadium, a structure that is part of the Beijing Olympic Park, designed by Herzog & De Meuron architects to host the 2008 Olympics Games which were held in this city. Measuring 330 meters long and 220 wide, this stunning building is commonly known as the Bird's Nest, named for its impressive and striking steel mesh that covers the building.
In 2014, Li Xingang & Tan Zhe Yang was commissioned to give a new look to one of the main entrances of this venue as well as several areas of the interior and exterior of the building, they chose Prodema as a partner for this project. Much of the interior of the entrance, both, walls and ceilings are covered with Prodema ProdIN Neptuno wood paneling, a type of fiber core panel specially designed for humid environments. In addition to the sophistication that the natural wood finished in Almond provides the Neptuno range also offers resistance to impact, heat or direct sunlight, an all in one created to last.
