Designer Piero Lissoni has created an elegant take on ancient Japanese matting, reinterpreting it in a selection of stones which echo the natural tones of the rush and cotton traditionally used. A refined and understated choice, Stone Tatami exemplifies Japanese design’s elusive principles of subtle beauty. It can be laid using only the Tatami tiles, but if you wish to replicate the original pattern, you can add a honed border in a contrasting or complementary colour to create the traditional pattern.
